Just a WR? Nope, D-Jax is in the rap game

Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson knows a thing or two about the game of football.

Apparently, he knows a thing or two about the rap game as well.

As Tim McManus of The Philly Post explains, DeSean has gathered a stable of talent under his Jaccpot Records label -- of which he is the CEO -- and is prepared to drop their debut album later this summer.

D-Jax is featured on the album and is currently hard at work on a series of accompanying music videos.

McManus wonders how the whole project is being funded, and pointed out that DeSean dropped $25,000 at a LA club in 2011 to bankroll a Jaccpot Records launch party.

It's worth noting that the 25-year-old was re-signed by the Birds to a five-year, $51 million deal on March 14.

The Los Angeles native, according to McManus, has a tight relationship with rapper Snoop Dogg and has a deep interest in the music industry (to see him perform, see video above, 3:00 mark).

At Eagles minicamp on Thursday, Jackson said his favorite rapper is Georgia native 2 Chainz. 2 Chainz is known for being one-half of southern hip-hop duo Playaz Circle -- which produced the single "Duffle Bag Boy" in 2007.

Sound off
Are you concerned that DeSean's rap venture will be a distraction?
