Harper an All-Star? Hamels thinks so
In case you missed it, a new chapter was added this weekend to the Cole Hamels-Bryce Harper story.
It started on May 6, when
Hamels drilled Harper with a fastball during a 9-3 Phillies win at Nationals Park, then admitted afterward, "I was trying to hit him."
Since then, Hamels has been suspended for five games and called "fake tough" by Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo, while Harper has
coined his own catchphrase.
But the drilling seems to have led to nothing but mutual respect between the two. The respect continued on Friday, when Hamels told the media that he voted Harper for the All-Star Game, according to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki:
This calls for a reminder that you have until Thursday at 11:59 p.m. to
vote for Chooch.
