Tonight's lineup: Pierre, Wigginton starting

The Phillies lost both games of Sunday's doubleheader and fell to 34-40. They will face the Pirates for the first game of a four-game series on Monday night (see game notes).

Joe Blanton (6-6, 5.04 ERA) takes the hill for the Phillies.

Juan Pierre will be in left field and Ty Wigginton will be at first. John Mayberry Jr. isn't in the starting lineup. Placido Polanco is swinging a hot bat; he had two doubles in Sunday's nightcap.

Carlos Ruiz is the starter behind the plate but Erik Kratz will be the backup. Kratz was recalled to fill in for Brian Schneider, who was placed on the DL Monday (see story).
