Flyers' new defenseman Schenn will wear No. 22
The newest Flyers defenseman, Luke Schenn, will wear No. 22, the Flyers announced via Twitter on Thursday.
Most recently, AHL call-up Ben Holmstrom wore the number last season in the five games he played with the Flyers. Before him, Ville Leino last wore No. 22 in 2010-11.
Last year, while with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Schenn wore No. 2. And also last year, as you might recall, the Flyers retired Mark Howe's No. 2. It seems the brother of center Brayden Schenn will be getting a true fresh start with his new club.
