Flyers' new defenseman Schenn will wear No. 22

The newest Flyers defenseman, Luke Schenn, will wear No. 22, the Flyers announced via Twitter on Thursday.

Most recently, AHL call-up Ben Holmstrom wore the number last season in the five games he played with the Flyers. Before him, Ville Leino last wore No. 22 in 2010-11.

Last year, while with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Schenn wore No. 2. And also last year, as you might recall, the Flyers retired Mark Howe's No. 2. It seems the brother of center Brayden Schenn will be getting a true fresh start with his new club.

Prospect camp dates announced
The Flyers’ prospect camp’s dates are set: The youngest Flyers – including last week’s draft picks – will participate in the team’s prospect camp July 9 – 15.

The annual Trial on the Isle will be held Wednesday, June 11.
