McNabb: An '80-to-90 percent' chance I'll play

Training camp is less than a month away and Donovan McNabb doesn’t have a team. But the 11-year Eagles quartberback who went 92-49-1 with the Birds (and just 6-13 since) still believes there is “80-to-90 percent” chance he’ll play in the NFL in 2012.

McNabb opened the interview on NBC SportsTalk by explaining that he could find a job if a team has an injury at the quarterback position during training camp or needs a veteran to come in and boost the competition.

But the line that stuck out was this: “I have about three teams I’m looking at that have a solid running game, have weapons on the outside, a defense that’s been playing well and playing well together, and is ready to win right now.”

“About” three teams… what does that mean? That there are three interested teams? Or maybe one or two interested teams and another that placed a phone call? That much, McNabb didn’t make clear. When pressed to name the three teams, McNabb wouldn’t.

“I’ve received some calls and obviously [the teams] have seen the work I’ve put forth,” McNabb said.

The conversation went on to who McNabb thinks deserves to be the highest-paid player in the NFL and whether he’d rather have been an average player who won a Super Bowl or a great one who didn’t.
