NFC East Notes: Toomer says Romo > Eli
Eli Manning has two Super Bowl rings. Tony Romo has one playoff win.
But that didn't seem to bother former Giant Amani Toomer, who told SiriusXM NFL Radio, that Romo is actually the better player. (Assist from Dallas Morning News
Toomer even won one of those Super Bowls with Manning but still said Romo is the best quarterback in the NFC East.
"Tony Romo is probably, if you look at it, statistically, he's probably the best quarterback in the NFC East," Toomer said "You look at Eli Manning and what he does in the fourth quarter, but you talk about consistency, talking about 31 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions, that guy (Romo) can play."Orakpo under pressure
Brian Orakpo has made two Pro Bowl appearances since he was the 13th pick in the 2009 draft.
But even with that level of success, CSNWashington
's Rich Tandler says that the pressure will be on the outside linebacker this season.
"If the Redskins are going to get out of the basement of the NFC East and into consistent playoff contention they will need more out of Orakpo," writes Tandler. "They need him to move from being a solid player with great potential to being a great player, maybe even an elite player. Their 3-4 defense is built to pile up sacks and turnovers and it needs a star quality player at the right outside linebacker position to work to its potential."E-mail Dave Zangaro at email@example.com
