Sixers Signing Day: Allen deal becomes official
The Sixers have officially announced the signing of forward Lavoy Allen.
It was first reported on June 1 that Allen had reached a new two-year deal worth $6 million, but teams weren't able to announce deals until Wednesday.
Allen played in 41 games in his rookie season, averaging 15.2 minutes, 4.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. The 6-9, 225-pound forward started 15 games as a rookie during the regular season.
In the playoffs, Allen became the team's starting center and averaged 19.7 minutes, 6.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Allen was the 50th overall pick in the 2011 draft out of Temple. This off-season, he was a restricted free agent.
The Sixers have not yet announced their other off-season moves yet: the re-signing of Spencer Hawes, the trade for Dorell Wright, acquiring Nick Young and using the amnesty clause on Elton Brand.
