The Sixers on Friday officially announced the signing of guard Royal Ivey. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

It will be Ivey’s second stint as a Sixer – he averaged 2.9 points per game from 2008-09 to the middle of the 2009-10 season, when he was traded along with Primoz Brezec to Milwaukee for Jodie Meeks and Francisco Elson.

The 6-foot-4 Ivey spent the last two seasons as a reserve for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He has career averages of 3.4 points and 1.1 assists in 12.5 minutes per game.

Ivey will compete for minutes at the guard spot behind Jrue Holiday, Evan Turner and Nick Young.
