8:08 p.m. -- Injuries piling up for Birds
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Eagles have 13 more days before training camp breaks at Lehigh, and players are dropping like flies.

Before Thursday, the Birds were already without Jason Babin, Trent Cole, Mike Patterson, Colt Anderson, Brent Celek and Cullen Jenkins.

During Thursday’s afternoon practice, Jamar Chaney (left hamstring), O.J. Atogwe (left groin), LeSean McCoy (cramps) and Nate Allen (cramps) all walked off the fields and into the fieldhouse.

7:02 p.m. -- Eagles work out Temple DE
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --
With the number of available defensive linemen shrinking, the Eagles worked out Temple product Morkeith Brown on Thursday.

“I think it went pretty good,” Brown said after his workout. “I did everything I’m supposed to do. I’m in shape. I’ve been working out twice a day, like when I was training for my pro day.”

6:54 p.m. -- Eagles trade for CB Thomas

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Eagles have traded linebackers Moise Fokou and Greg Lloyd to the Colts for cornerback Kevin Thomas and a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2013 draft.

Thomas was a third-round pick in 2010 by the Colts out of USC. He missed the entire 2010 season with a knee injury. Thomas played in nine games and started five last season. He had 20 tackles and three deflected passes.

Fokou started 22 games in his Eagles career, including 11 in 2010. Last season, he played in 11 games and started seven. He had 27 tackles in 2011. The Eagles took Fokou in the seventh round in 2009.

Lloyd was a seventh-rounder in 2011 out of Connecticut. After spending the first 12 weeks of 2011 on the practice squad, Lloyd was promoted to the active roster but was never active.

6:10 p.m. -- Plenty of injuries

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- After Thursday's afternoon practice, the Eagles rolled out an laundry list of injured players.

LB Jamar Chaney has an injured left hamstring. He'll have an MRI tonight. S O.J. Atogwe has an injured left groin. WR Jamel Hamler has an injured right hamstring.

Offensive tackle Todd Herremans missed all of the afternoon practice with a shoulder injury. He was seen icing it following the morning walk-through.

LeSean McCoy and Nate Allen both left the afternoon practice with cramps. McCoy said, "I'm fine," as he left the fieldhouse next to the practice fields.

Evan Mathis wasn't at the morning walk-through or the afternoon practice. He is sick.

2:02 p.m.
-- Boykin, Johnson listed as starters
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Eagles special teams coach Bobby April met with the media today and said that rookie cornerback Brandon Boykin was the team's starting kick returner as of now and that rookie cornerback Damaris Johnson is the first-team punt returner.

2 p.m. -- Three random facts

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- We did this the other day and you didn't seem to hate it, so here are three random facts (from the Eagles training camp media guide):

1. Elvis Akpla lists one of his nicknames as "Akbar."

2. Brian Rolle's favorite meal is fried porkchops with cornbread.

3. Mike Patterson's guilty pleasure is eating breakfast for dinner, especially pancakes or french toast. Ah brinner.

1:15 p.m. -- Cox, Curry capitalizing
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- While the Eagles would prefer that their starting defensive lineman remain healthy, there is a silver lining to the injuries suffered by Jason Babin, Trent Cole and Cullen Jenkins in that Fletcher Cox and Vinny Curry are getting more reps in practice

Cox, a defensive tackle out of Mississippi State, was the team's first round pick and the Eagles took Curry, a defensive end, in the second round out of Marshall. The rookies are making the most out of their opportunities.

12:39 p.m. -- Chaney out to prove himself
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Jamar Chaney was the only Eagles linebacker to start all 16 games last season. But, the team made it clear that it was not satisfied with play of its linebacking corps when it traded for DeMeco Ryans and drafted Mychal Kendricks in the second round, effectively removing Chaney his starting spot.

Chaney was bumped up to the first nickle linebacker spot ahead of Brian Rolle on Thursday at practice. It is the first step in what he hopes is his journey back to the starting lineup.

12:30 p.m. -- Jenkins OK, all backup afternoon
After being carted off the field at Wednesday's practice, defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins said after Thursday morning's walk-through that he doesn't expect to miss more than a couple days of camp.

Still, given his absence, and the injuries to Trent Cole, Jason Babin and, of course, Mike Patterson, the entire projected starting line will miss Thursday afternoon's practice, providing a good chance for the rookies to get some work and the fringe players to audition for the roster.

9:11 a.m. -- Walk-through participation

BETHELEHEM, Pa. -- Trent Cole (shoulder), Jason Babin (calf strain), Brent Celek (knee strain) and Cullen Jenkins (hamstring) were all on the field for the morning walk-through at Lehigh on Thursday.

The morning walk-through is pretty light and we we'll have to see if any of these guys practice in the afternoon.

Cole had swelling in the AC joint in his shoulder and sat out on Wednesday. Babin's calf strain might keep him out for the rest of camp, even though his appearance Thursday morning is encouraging.

Celek looks like he might be back in the next few days. He ran sprints on a side field on Wednesday but cutting is still the problem with his injured knee. He practiced cuts with fellow TE Clay Harbor behind the back of offensive players but didn't line up in the walk-through.

Guard Evan Mathis wasn't on the field for the walk-through. Mathis is sick but might return to the team for the afternoon, although tomorrow is more likely. Dallas Reynolds lined up with the first team in Mathis' absence.
