ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Nets have a new home, a new look and a new attitude. The Sixers got a dose of the latter two Saturday night in a 108-105 overtime loss at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

The Nets took it to the Sixers for three quarters, but the Sixers gave fans a show in the fourth when they finished on a 14-2 run to force overtime.

Nick Young fueled that late charge scoring 15 points in the final 12 minutes of regulation, including two made three pointers and three made free throws after being fouled on a three-point shot attempt.

In overtime, Maalik Wayns gave the Sixers their first lead of the game on their very first possession, hitting a three to go up 98-97.

The two teams went back and forth for five minutes, but a basket by Andray Blatche with 26.8 seconds to play in OT gave the Nets the lead for good at 106-105.

Nick Young attempted a tough three-point shot at the buzzer, which would have tied the game, but it was off the mark and the Nets prevailed, 108-105.

Jason Richardson and Dorell Wright were healthy scratches for Doug Collins. Royal Ivey and Damien Wilkins saw their first preseason minutes. Ivey started in the backcourt with Jrue Holiday and Wilkins was the first player off the bench.

Andrew Bynum was in street clothes sitting at the end of the bench. The team is still hopeful Bynum will have seven practices with the team before they open the regular season on Oct. 31 against Denver.

Turning Point
It was Wayns' world at Boardwalk Hall Saturday night. Wayns hit a three-pointer with 3:22 to play in regulation to cut the Sixers deficit to single digits for the first time since the 10:42 mark of the third quarter at 93-86, and his three-pointer with 1:46 to go in OT gave the Sixers their biggest lead of the game at 105-102.

Follow the Leader
Nick Young led the Sixers in scoring with his 21 points, 15 of them coming in the fourth quarter. In two games this preseason, Young has scored 27 fourth quarter points.

Brook Lopez and CJ Watson each scored 19 points for the Nets. Gerald Wallace scored 18 and the Nets starting backcourt of Joe Johnson and Deron Williams combined for 25 points with 11 and 14 respectively.

Evan Turner came into Saturday night having shot 2-for-12 from the floor versus the Magic. He missed his first four shots against the Nets, but when the Sixers made a run at Brooklyn in the second quarter, Turner scored 10 (3 of 4 FGA) of the team’s 27 points. Turner finished with 14 points.

Stat-egic
After making 9 of 18 three pointers against Orlando, the Sixers were limited to just one three through three quarters. Keep in mind, Wright and Richardson, who are known for their long distance shooting, did not play. The Sixers made six threes in the fourth quarter and overtime combined to have seven for the game.

Take A Bow
Maalik Wayns had a second consecutive strong showing. The former Villanova star finished with 18 points. His play was pivotal in the fourth quarter when the Sixers turned a 15-point deficit into a tie game with 45 seconds remaining.

What’s Next
The Sixers will play two games this week at the Wells Fargo Center. Monday night they will host Boston. On Wednesday, Kyrie Irving and the Cavaliers come to town. Their final three preseason games are on the road against Brooklyn, Boston and New York.
